Helping Kids through Sports

Our mission is to improve access to sports by providing scholarships to Montana families.

We understand the obstacles families in Montana face financially.  Rising costs of living and challenges presented by emergency circumstances may prevent children from participating in sports.

Our scholarships reduce these pressures and increase the opportunity for kids to gain all the benefits that sports provide.

Potential is a Montana based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in Bozeman by parents and coaches who have seen firsthand the benefits that sports can have on a child's life.  Our board members are:

Steven McAtee

Suzie Turczyn

Terri Marsh

Steven competed in men's gymnastics and has coached both boys and girls competitive team gymnastics for many years. He hopes that with Potential scholarships, kids will be able to continue playing their sport even when family crises occur.

Suzie was the co-owner of Lone Mountain Gymnastics and Swim School for many years. She witnessed first hand the confidence gained by kids when they participated in sports. Her ultimate hope is that all children in Gallatin County learn to swim.

Terri has traveled all around the region supporting her kids’ participation in gymnastics, track, baseball and football.  She is concerned about the high cost of living in the area and hopes that Potential’s scholarships ease some of the financial burden facing families in Montana.

Potential is dedicated to Jeff and Suzie Turczyn, whose positive impact on our community inspired its creation.
